The Mojave Desert and Carrizo Plain are the main development areas for major energy projects in California. However the San Joaquin Valley remains largely undeveloped due to a lack of commitment from state planners and regulators to build the transmission line needed to start development.

Wind energy has its fair share of critics, but a new study from the IPPR think tank investigated the efficiency and reliability of the industry found that common criticisms aren’t supported by evidence. A leading energy consultant concluded that technically speaking, there is no reason why wind turbines should not be supported as a viable alternative energy source.

At a recent event in London, Hyundai showcased the ix35, the automaker’s third generation fuel cell ride. By the end of 2012, Hyundai expects to produce 1,000 fuel cell vehicles for government and private fleets.
