SunPower founder Richard Swanson has officially retired but will remain with SunPower on its technical advisory board. Over the last year, Swanson has served as "President Emeritus" and has been involved with the low-concentration C7 tracker, the high-efficiency Maxeon solar cell, and SunPower's residential efforts in Japan. Additionally, he has also worked on the DOE's SunShot program, that aims to drive down the cost of installed solar down below $1.00 per watt.

Technica Communications recently published a list of ten influential women in cleantech, specifically women in government positions who are working to better the environment and promote clean technology.  

Terra Firma, a private-equity firm, and China Development Bank are teaming up to create a multi-billion-dollar fund to invest in renewable energy in the coming months. The aim of the partnership will be to target important core investments areas like energy and infrastructure.
