Hein named to Inside Public Accounting’s “Best of the Best” list for 2012

Congratulations to CleanTech OC members Hein & Associates for making Inside Public Accounting’s (IPA) annual “Best of the Best” list. The list highlights 50 firms for their overall performance on more than 50 criteria. Hein was also named “Best of the Best” in 2009 and 2011, and received Honorable Mention in 2010.

Biofuels Backed by Secretary of the Navy

The U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus wrote a piece for UT-San Diego and gave some historical perspective on the Navy’s energy use. Mabus argues for increasing biofuel use because of the fluctuating and rising cost of imported oil. He went on to say that the demand for oil will continue to push costs higher in the short and long term.

Electric Cars Now Owners’ Primary Vehicles In California

A new survey from the California Center for Sustainable Energy indicates that households with electric cars are using it as their primary means of transportation. Results from the survey also indicated that owners are using their electric cars every day, driving about 800 miles per month on average, or around 10,000 miles a year.
