According to GE CEO, Jeff Immelt, in order for both large and small companies to succeed, larger companies must collaborate with smaller ones and future customers. Such a collaboration will help bring important innovations to market thus creating new revenue for both the start-up and larger company.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of hit the largest Chinese solar manufacturers with tariffs as high as 36%. This move was on the heels of a final ruling that they illegally dumped cheap photovoltaic cells on the American market. The tariffs will become final if the U.S. International Trade Commission finds that the Chinese companies illegally dumped solar cells, a decision that is due Nov. 7.

A new biodegradable line of shoes and clothes from Puma will hit the market in 2013. The 22-product line will include biodegradable shoes and shirts as well as recyclable plastic track jackets and backpacks. Puma’s move will allow the customer to either recycle the product or return it to stores for re-processing.
