SolarTech’s Solar Job Program Vets and Trains Green Workers
Backed by a $4M grant, SolarTech has partnered with Nova Workforce Development for a program that trains people for high-demand greentech jobs. Graduates of the program have been hired by solar and energy efficiency employers, including SolarCity, Sol Focus, SunWize, SunEdison, Real Goods Solar and Siemens.

What Cleantech Bust?
Pike Research’s recent webinar, “The Year Ahead in Cleantech,” included a forecast for combined revenue across the industries and technologies covered in smart energy practice at nearly $300 billion – this stance directly contradicts a feature in Wired, written by Washington Post national environmental reporter Juliet Eilperin, headlined “Why the Clean Tech Boom Went Bust.”

At current count, there are 2,244 rebate-eligible solar PV installers in California and only 374 on the solar hot water side. This lack of presences proves to be a possible opportunity for solar installers to gain more business, skilled technicians, and grow an underrepresented market.
