Electriccar pioneer launches startup focused on EV-grid link
EV Grid was formed to use “vehicle to grid,” or V2G technology, which uses software and hardware to create a bi-directional flow from the power grid to the electric car battery. The technology is still in its very early stage - only 100,000 electric cars will have V2G capability by 2017.

According to research group NPD, 75 percent of the electric meters in the U.S. will be smart, digital meters by 2016. Part of the increase is due to the $4 billion in funding from the stimulus package. Now that the money has been spent, the growth will still occur, just at a slower rate.

The US military is committed to green technologies such as better batteries, advanced biofuels, and energy-efficient buildings for not only the environmental pay off but the positive effects these practices can and will have on the budget and spending.
