Toyota Leads Green Tech Patent Growth For Third Consecutive Quarter
Toyota is leading green-tech patents for the third consecutive quarter. The US Patent and Trademark Office approved 798 clean-tech patents during the third quarter of 2012, 71 were from Toyota and the majority were for fuel cell technology.

In November, California voters approved Prop 39 and now budget analysts expect the measure make an estimated $2.5 billion available for clean energy and energy efficiency projects. More recently, on January 10, Governor Brown released a budget plan that would deposit $450 million of Prop 39 revenue into a fund for efficiency projects for the fiscal year beginning July 1. In the four years to follow, schools would receive $550 million annually.
