U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has sided with U.S. solar manufacturers in the trade complaint against Chinese solar cell makers. In a 6-0 vote on Wednesday, the ITC determined that U.S. solar makers have been harmed by Chinese competitors. The decision means that tariffs will be kept in place on silicon solar cells coming from China.

Spark, a connected lighting company, is ready to release their first product: the Spark Socket, which connects to a home wireless network and lets people switch light bulbs on and off from their phone or computer. The Spark Socket is just one of many smart bulbs that are hitting that market promising to give customers better control over their lighting and more information about their electricity use.

Shares of Seal Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. continue to climb after the company reported positive third quarter revenue. The company is currently expanding America’s Natural Gas Highway and will build 125 stations this year, up from 60 in 2011. Despite strong revenue gains, the company has yet to reach profitability as it continues to pump big dollars into its infrastructure projects.
