On Thursday, First Solar reduced its 2012 sales forecast and also boosted its earnings projection. The Arizona-based company now expects to generate $3.5 billion to $3.8 billion in sales (previously set at $3.6 billion to $3.9 billion). Sales for First Solar have declined year-over-year sales to $839.1 million from $957.3 million. Even with challenges in the U.S. market, the company plans to expand overseas.

US Solar Jobs Up 13.2% In Past Year
Some positive news on the job creation front was reported today by the Solar Foundation - the U.S. solar industry added 13,872 employees thus far this year, a 13.2% increase brining the domestic employment total to 119,016. Lower prices by Chinese companies have played a huge role in increasing solar jobs here at home.

2013 Automobile of the Year: Tesla Model S
Automobile Magazine has named the Tesla Model S their 2013 Automobile of the Year. With the help of a $465 million loan from the Department of Energy, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk hopes to go from Silicon Valley start-up to volume-producing auto-maker. The folks at Automobile Magazine give a great run down of the Model S and credit Musk for his vision and innovation.
