Microsoft is planning to build a small data center adjacent to a waste water treatment plant in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The data center will be powered by a fuel cell that uses biogas from the water facility. Microsoft plans to use the test project to learn how to scale clean power resources for its larger data centers and how to become less reliant on the power grid.
