How Facebook could change the game for sustainability
Facebook has recently hired a manager of energy efficiency and sustainability who will give the company an increased focus on sustainability. Facebook has a great opportunity to help deliver sustainability through their social platform and, in the coming months, the company will connect with third party app developers that can help reach some big goals.

Last week U.S. Congressmen Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) introduced H.R. 6154, The Public Lands Renewable Energy Development Act, bipartisan legislation that will help streamline permitting for renewable energy projects on public land. Currently, obtaining permits for renewable projects on public land can take years.

ExxonMobil released the results of  its “2012 The Outlook for Energy: A View to 2040,” to a group of energy professionals – the oil giant expects to see significant renewable energy growth over the next 30 years through hefty research investments. Exxon’s believes such risky investments are needed in order to meet the anticipated energy demand growth over the coming decades.
