Friday, July 20, 2012 covers five energy projects they believe to have great potential. The projects include solar, energy efficiency savings, geothermal conversion, fuseless technology and smart meters.

Greening the U.S. Navy is not limited to American waters, the project will require allies in other countries who are equally concerned about energy issues within the military. This week the Navy displayed its Great Green Fleet during the biannual Rim of the Pacific exercise involving 22 nations. The Navy plans to obtain 50% of energy from renewable sources by 2020.

A123 Systems Inc., who makes lithium-ion batteries for electric cars, has had a surge after winning a contract to supply a 2-megawatt system to China’s Ray Power Systems Co. The system, once up and running, will help stabilize China’s electric grid and enable integration of wind and solar power plants.
