Wind energy tax credits survive as Congress passes fiscal cliff deal
President Obama will soon sign new legislation extending the wind energy tax credits for wind projects that start in 2013. If a deal was not reach by the deadline, the wind energy tax credits would have expired on 12/31, freezing wind project construction in the U.S. According to the American Wind Energy Association, the extension will save 37,000 jobs and revive business at 500 wind factories.

BYD, a Chinese auto manufacturer, is looking to bring green jobs to California via a new electric vehicle plant which would build up to 100 vehicles in 2014 and 500 in 2014. BYD’s new electric buses are to meet the growing EV needs of mass transit fleets. The K9 electric bus is able to run 155 miles on a single charge in urban settings and can be fully recharged in three hours.
